Dear ENERGY STAR® Pledge Drivers Yes, it is that time of the year again and we are more excited than ever to have your continued participation in the Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR campaign! We have had huge successes during this campaign year including more than 800 ENERGY STARs Across America events and activities resulting in nearly 3 million pledges to-date, equivalent to preventing more than 10 billion greenhouse gas emissions. We couldn't have done it without you—but we are not quite done. We want to finish this campaign year off with a bang and then leverage that bang to kick-off a whole new year filled with exciting new elements for 2012. More than that, this is a special year for ENERGY STAR—our 20th Anniversary, and that means even more celebrations. Here are some of our important updates: | Bulk Pledge Submissions To wrap up the 2011 - 2012 campaign year, EPA wanted to remind you of the upcoming deadlines to make sure your pledges count before we identify the top pledge drivers. If you have been collecting bulk pledges, please submit your pledge spreadsheet to changetheworld@energystar.gov by April 6, 2012—don't forget to make sure your spreadsheet has a name, valid ZIP code, and e-mail address filled out. The deadline for online pledges to count toward the Top 5 pledge drivers is April 12, 2012. |  Back to Top | | ENERGY STARs Across America We know that partners and pledge drivers across the country are hosting energy-saving events all year long. This event series allows EPA to amplify your events on a national level by making them stars on our map! All approved event submissions will be promoted on our new and improved ENERGY STARs Across America online map. Visitors to energystar.gov/changetheworld will have access to the map and can find partner- and pledge driver-sponsored events to visit in their neighborhoods. In order to make your star as informative as possible, please include the following information in your submission: | | | • | Pledge driver name | | | • | Event title | | | • | Date and time of event | | | • | Complete address of event (street address, city, state, and ZIP code needed) | | | • | Event description (150 characters or less, including spaces) | | | • | Description of how this event will feature

Participants who are not partners should contact: changetheworld@energystar.gov. | | Back to Top | | What's New This Year—Partnership with Dr. Seuss' the Lorax and More! | As many of you already know, ENERGY STARs Across America brings together events across the country that have one common element—they all work to help Americans save energy, save money, and protect the climate with ENERGY STAR. To support your outreach efforts, EPA continues to provide its ENERGY STAR Pledge as well as a new-for-this-year, youth engagement initiative, Team ENERGY STAR. Since the ENERGY STAR Pledge is for individuals 13 or older, EPA wanted to have something specific for kids under 13. Teaming up with Universal Picture's Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, EPA developed Team ENERGY STAR to engage kids in helping their families save energy. Several publications currently include our Team ENERGY STAR PSA featured here. For pledge drivers that see a lot of families with kids at their events or are interested in engaging families in general, Team ENERGY STAR is a perfect opportunity to do that. Publication #: 430E12004 Team ENERGY STAR/Lorax Buttons: This giveaway is only for pledge drivers who plan to sign young people up for Team ENERGY STAR at their events. The intent is to distribute the buttons only to kids who sign up. 250 buttons per pledge driver maximum.
Publication #: 430E12002 | In order to receive these materials, orders must be placed through the National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP). Pledge drivers must contact NSCEP independently to place their order. To place an order, e-mail nscep@bps-lmit.com or call 1-800-490-9198.
